Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage an APS5 Administration Officer on a contract for 6 Months, with potential extensions of 6 months.

Position Overview

Within the administration function, an APS5 Administration Officer is accountable under routine direction, to perform and achieve straightforward procedural, administrative and business support work. They are required to have a high level understanding of, and compliance with, relevant legislative frameworks, government decision making and Defence's mission and policy requirements.

An APS5 Administration Officer will be accountable for organising their workflow and making independent decisions relating to their area of responsibility. They will interpret and provide advice within the administration function based on legislation, policy and procedures. They will undertake specialist research and analysis, conduct reviews, assessments and perform procedural, clerical, administrative support work to achieve results.

The successful applicant will have well developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills. The APS5 will have considerable stakeholder engagement and will be required to identify relevant stakeholders' expectations and deliver services. Employees may have considerable public contact in the role and may be required to communicate with and provide advice to a wide variety of customers and external stakeholders.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Undertake financial reconciliations for the Transition Program;
  • Manage enquiries through the group mailbox;
  • Assist in the completion of data requests;
  • Other administration duties as required.

The Administration Officer (APS5) will be accountable for the ongoing administration of processes and procedures in support of community support programs including compliance and business reporting. The successful applicant will have good customer service skills, strong written communication skills along with the ability to work with spreadsheets with a high degree of accuracy.

The Administration Officer (APS5) will under limited direction undertake complex operational, procedural, administrative, and business support tasks.

Mandatory Requirements:

The successful candidate will be required to have (or be able to obtain and maintain) a NV1 clearance.
