Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage a Case Management Support on a contract for 12 months with potential extension.

About the Role

The EL1 Assistant Director Case Management Support works closely with the Director to ensure all AAT applications are received, acknowledged, registered and assessed for risk and priority in a timely manner. This includes ensuring the filing of Tribunal documents occurs in good order and within statutory timeframes, a short summary of the facts of each matter is compiled to support case management functions within AAB and the matter is allocated to the case management and legal teams.

The role will also oversee the efficient arrangement of specialist and medical assessments where required, and also oversee the management of complaints relating to AAT matters and other activities to support case management in its business functions, such as the preparation of guidance and instruction material.

The EL1 Assistant Director Case Management Support will strategically implement improvement to processes, communication and reporting that will enhance the case management support product so that it maintains its value to the case management and legal teams. This will require stakeholder liaison and relationship building.

The Agency receives AAT Applications each day, seeking external review of Agency's decisions. The role will work in a fast paced environment with tight time frames to ensure the statutory timeframes that apply to the processing of these applications are met.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Managing the workflow of case management support functions to ensure statutory timeframes and measures are met.
  • Identifying, obtaining and analysing information relevant to the AAT application to identify risks and cohorts.
  • Managing AAT Applications received by the Agency including the allocation to the case management teams and legal teams.
  • Leading and contributing to strategic projects and policy development processes.
  • Leading and contributing to the development of Ministerial and Parliamentary briefs and complaints.
  • Contributing to the preparation of reports, business cases, meeting submissions and correspondence.
  • Leading a team and/or a scope of work, including mentoring, supervising, training and supporting Case Management Support staff.
