Our Government client is seeking to engage an Accounts Payable Officer on a contract until 30/06/2023.
Position Overview
Duties & Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities in this role under general direction include:
- Maintaining information and resolution of enquiries relating to the processing functions in a high volume finance operations environment. This may include, raising and issuing invoices/credit notes, receipting, undertaking bank account reconciliations, credit card acquittals, preparation of journals, processing supplier invoices for payment, resolving routine client enquiries in a timely manner and other associated functions.
- Ensure compliance with the work practices, procedures, guidelines and relevant instructions of the finance operations environment.
- Contribute to the achievement of key performance indicators and service deliverables for the finance operations environment.
- Display a consistent and ongoing commitment to high quality customer service principles, practices and behaviors.
- Work cooperatively within a team environment to achieve organizational and team based goals and initiatives and demonstrate a willingness to contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

Professional / Technical Skills and Knowledge
- Demonstrated capability in a high volume finance operations environment with knowledge of processing functions relating to accounts receivable, accounts payable and banking functions.
- Demonstrated competency in financial processing systems e.g. Oracle R12, Converga P2P, WBC Corporate Online, or similar, and with Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrated knowledge of work practices, procedures, guidelines and instructions relevant to a finance operations environment.
- Sound organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to priorities workloads in order to meet tight deadlines, ensure attention to detail and maintain high standards of quality.
- Demonstrated commitment to high quality customer service principles, practices and behaviors, including demonstrating resilience.
- Well-developed problem solving and analytical skills, particularly the ability to understand and process financial data.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly with numerical and financial information.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing, with a range of stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and cooperatively as a member of a team, providing support to others and working collaboratively to achieve organizational and team based goals.
