Our Government client is seeking to engage an Accounts Payable Officer on a contract until 30/06/2023.

Position Overview

Duties & Responsibilities:

The roles key responsibilities under general direction include:
  • Identify, deliver and support the necessary training requirements and foster a culture of continuous business improvement and high-level customer service.
  • Maintain information and provide a resolution of enquiries as a point of escalation.
  • Provide guidance and ensure compliance with the work practices, procedures, guidelines and relevant instructions of the finance operations environment.
  • Contribute to the achievement of key performance indicators and service deliverables for the finance operations environment.
  • Supervision of a small team, inclusive of monitoring performance and preparing performance development plans.
  • Display a consistent and ongoing commitment to high quality customer service principles, practices and behaviours whilst maintaining and establishing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work cooperatively within a team environment to achieve organisational and team-based goals and initiatives.
  • Identify and promote initiatives aimed at improving business process, service delivery, customer satisfaction and that contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
Skills and Capabilities Required:

Professional / Technical Skills and Knowledge:
  • Demonstrated capability in a high-volume finance operations environment with knowledge of accounts receivable, accounts payable and banking functions.
  • Experience in supervising a team in a service delivery environment.
  • Demonstrated capability in financial processing systems e.g. Oracle R12, Converga P2P, WBC Corporate Online, or similar, and with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of work practices, procedures, guidelines and instructions relevant to a finance operations environment.

  • Sound organisational skills with a demonstrated ability to prioritise workloads in order to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy as well as the ability to focus on high standards of quality.
  • Commitment to and demonstration of high quality customer service principles, practices and behaviours.
  • Well developed problem solving and analytical skills and a demonstrated ability to understand and process financial information.

  • Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing, with a range of stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and cooperatively as a member of a team, providing support to others, sharing knowledge and working collaboratively to achieve organisational and team based goals.
Mandatory Requirements:
  • A current client issued Personnel Vetting Program certificate (Baseline clearance equivalent) is required for this position, or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
