Senior Procurement Advisor (VPS5)
Pay Rate: $62.25 – $68.83 + super
Location:  222 Exhibition Street, Melbourne (Hybrid arrangement)
Contract:  19 November 2025 – 18 May 2026

About the Role  We are seeking an experienced  Senior Procurement Specialist  to join our team and support major infrastructure projects.
This role requires a strong understanding of procurement processes aligned with  Victorian Government Purchasing Board (VGPB)  requirements, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to make sound, timely decisions in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead sourcing activities for goods and services in compliance with VGPB policies.
  • Prepare and review procurement and contract documentation with precision.
  • Exercise considered judgement and risk analysis to make confident decisions.
  • Collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team to meet tight deadlines.
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, negotiate effectively, and resolve complex issues.
Key Selection Criteria
  1. Sourcing:  Demonstrated experience in sourcing goods and services under VGPB requirements, with a sound understanding of commercial and contractual issues, preferably in major infrastructure projects.
  2. Detail Focus:  Strong attention to detail in preparing and reviewing procurement and contract documents; ability to identify gaps and ensure logical sequencing.
  3. Decisiveness:  High-level analytical skills, professional ethics, and ability to make quick, accurate decisions under delegated authority.
  4. Self-discipline & Teamwork:  Ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure to achieve competing priorities.
  5. Stakeholder Management & Negotiation:  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to negotiate, resolve issues, and build strong partnerships.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Tertiary qualification in  Commerce, Finance, Engineering, Law, Project Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Previous experience in similar procurement roles within government or large-scale projects.
Additional Details
  • Start Date:  19 November 2025
  • End Date:  18 May 2026
  • Salary Range:  $123,000 – $136,000 + super (daily/hourly rate negotiable with in the band)
