About the role:
This Agency is currently seeking a Senior Project Support Officer for a key government project within the Land Fires Program, focused on future fires capability development for the Army. This role has become available due to the upcoming project start and will play a vital part in supporting project management, stakeholder engagement, and procurement activities. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work on meaningful efforts that enhance national defence capabilities.

Key responsibilities include:
 

  • Providing project management and stakeholder engagement support across both Major and Minor Army projects.
  • Developing and coordinating RFQs and RFPs for Army Minors.
  • Assisting evaluation panels and procurement decision-making processes.
  • Integrating capability development initiatives within the broader Land Fires Program.
  • liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure strategic alignment.
  • Contributing to program planning, reporting, and governance documentation.


Skills required for this role:
 
  • Project: Experience running Defence projects of different sizes, including Army programs.
  • Procurement: Good understanding of how to prepare tenders, review bids, and follow Defence purchasing rules.
  • Working with Others: Able to work well with Defence staff, industry partners, and other organisations.
  • Integration: Experience helping different Defence projects work together and align with major programs like LAND 8113, LAND 8116, LAND 19, and LAND 8111.
  • Governance: Knows how to follow Defence systems and processes, including using the One Defence Capability System and Defence Writing Manual.
  • Big Picture Thinking: Understands how Defence plans for the future and how new capabilities support its long-term goals.
  • NV1 security clearance or higher is mandatory

  • Daily Rate (including super): $900 to $1050 per day
