Senior Structural Engineer

This position is responsible for the structural engineering and development for high technology systems and assists the integrated project team on various ongoing projects and tenders. Responsibilities include;

* Keeping up to date with new and novel techniques
* Providing technical support to the tendering department for the purpose of bid preparation or business plan development
* Having the responsibility for engineering solutions for various tasks and problems encountered throughout the project
* Develop ideas from concept through to design, drawing, assist & review offer, fabrication, testing and delivery to worksite
* Engineering and technical delivery of assigned projects & tender scope in accordance with the requirement of client management systems, customer specifications, industry standards, project specifications and project schedule
* Ensuring that specifications and scope of work within the assigned scope have been reviewed and agreed by the relevant centres of competence and that quality issues are captured
* Provide regular feedback on utilisation and support if required
* Assist as required during vessel mobilisation and offshore phase
* Ensure that design work is carried out according to the latest revisions of standards and specifications

The following capabilities must be demonstrated;

* Recognised degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
* Minimum 5 years work experience in Offshore / Onshore engineering
* Good knowledge of spool piece installation, flexible flowlines, tie-ins, subsea structures, riser installation, umbilicals, DPII construction vessels, hyperbaric tie-ins and pipelay experience would be an advantage
* Good knowledge of steel structure design and installation, transportation analysis and seafastening design, vessel strength check, fabrication & material specification
* Familiarity with technical software
* Good OHS knowledge

This position has the authority for generating and checking client engineering documents and data - and for checking sub-contractors documents and data. It also has the authority for feasibility and conceptual design for tendering departments and for detailed design on a project basis.
