Workplace Health & Safety Representative

Our client operates from 39 locations spread throughout Australia, New Zealand, UK, USA, China and India. They supply processed quality ferrous and non ferrous recycled metal to Australian steel mills, the foundry industry, domestic copper, brass, lead and aluminium industries and is a significant exporter of ferrous and non ferrous recycled raw materials to the Asian Countries.

They are seeking the expertise of a WHS Representative who will be assisting the Branch Manager in supervising a team responsible for the sorting, processing and despatch of recycled material. You will be required to model the standards in safety behaviour at the branch through providing leadership on safety matters as well as maintaining compliance to both policies and procedures.

You will have experience in a similar role within a heavy industry. Have completed Frontline Management training / WHS certification and possess strong communication, negotiation, time management and leadership skills.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
• Heavy Machinery mechanical knowledge would be advantageous
• Metals product knowledge desirable
• Forklift/Excavator licences or knowledge of equipment
