Technical Analyst

The role of this government department is to support the provision of high-quality policy advice; to provide strategic policy leadership by developing and leading key policy initiatives, particularly in a whole-of-government framework; and to continuously improve the capacity, integrity and independence of the Victorian Public Service.

As a technical Analyst, some of your responsibilities will include:

• Provide technical support and expert advice relative to the Department’s suite of business systems.
• Represent the shared Services Provider change management processes.
• Engage with a range of service providers and IT vendors re technical support matters.
• Provide expert advice re operational matters effecting the department's business systems.
• Monitor the performance of the department's business systems.
• Assist and advise re annual disaster recovery and penetration tests.

To be successful in this role, you must be able to demonstrate:

• Extensive experience in a technical analyst role with demonstrated expertise providing business system support.
• Strong knowledge and technical skills re MS Office, SQL, Lotus Notes / Domino and TRIM.
• Knowledge of contemporary disaster recovery testing and penetration testing activities.
• Demonstrated ability to liaise with and coordinate external services providers and IT vendors.
• Strong knowledge re the change management processes applicable within Victorian Government.
