Anaesthetist - Staff Specialist

An exciting opportunity exists for an Anaesthetist to work at a 146 bedded (level 1) tertiary teaching hospital where over 6000 surgical procedures are conducted each year.

Based in North West Victoria on the Murray River approximately 600 km from Melbourne and 380 km from Adelaide, the hospital is affiliated with major Victorian universities for the provision of undergraduate and postgraduate Medical, Nursing and Allied Health education. The hospital provides a range of Acute Services including Emergency, Maternity, Intensive Care, General Medicine and Surgery, Medical Imaging, Pathology, Dialysis, Mental Health (Inpatient and community services) and a range of Ambulatory Services.

This town offers pretty lush green country side with citrus groves and many vineyards. On the edge of the Australian outback and an oasis by the Murray River, it is known for endless sunshine and great food and wine The Murray River itself is a major draw for tourists and a great destination for a water-based holiday and for those who love water sports such as canoeing, swimming, and waterskiing.

Selection Criteria: -
To be considered for this opportunity you will have the following:-

• Fellowship with ANZCA or equivalent
• MBBS
• 12 months clinical experience gained within a country with a comparable healthcare system to Australia. Comparable countries are:- UK, Ireland, NZ, USA and Canada
• Hold current registration or be eligible for registration with AHPRA
• If your medical degree was gained in a country where English is NOT a native or first language you will be required to take an English language. Accepted English language tests are IELTS (minimum score of 7 in each category), PLAB, OET and NZREX.
