Facility Manager- Rail Maintenance

This ASX listed organisation is one of Australia’s leading providers in the infrastructure and engineering services to their customers across the Rail, Water and Mining industries.

With over 100 years’ experience in the rail industry they are the leading provider and maintainer of passenger and freight rolling stock in Australia. The division continue to maintain over 60% of the national locomotive fleet and have over 20 maintenance facilities across the country. To support this activity they require a Facility Manager to join their team based in Nebo, which is only 1 hour away from Mackay.

They are seeking an Engineer with previous supervisory experience in a maintenance facility combined with and electrical or mechanical trade’s background. The successful candidate will lead a team made up of locomotive maintenance coordinators to continuously improve the maintenance practices at the rail maintenance facility. You will therefore have solid interpersonal and negotiation skills to facilitate the relationship between the maintenance operations and the client.

The successful candidate will ideally have:
• Electrical or Mechanical engineering background is essential
• First Aid Qualification is vital
• Ability to demonstrate strong leadership in safety
• Must have had supervisory experience in an engineering maintenance facility
• Ability to work to a budget & and deliver forecasts
• Demonstrated experience in coaching, mentor all employees and visitors of the need to comply with processes
