Civil Engineer | Stormwater and Environment Design

With a wealth of projects being undertaken on the Gold Coast, the requirement for an experienced Senior Specialist Design Project Officer – Stormwater and Environment is now required.

This Department is responsible for servicing the planning, design, survey, specifications and materials testing requirements for the Gold Coasts complex infrastructure projects.

Reporting to the Executive coordinator Stormwater and Environmental you will also be responsible for liaising between the Technical Services Department internal and external stakeholders. With such a heavy focus on  project planning and design, it is imperative that you possess demonstrated experience in meeting project time frames and budgets including the preparation of planning reports, tender and labor documentation, feasibility studies, tender assessments using relevant software packages.

The Skills and Key Responsibilities:

• Associate Degree in Civil Engineering or Advanced Diploma of Civil Engineering
• Demonstrated 10 years experience in Stormwater analysis
• Full Project Management accountabilities; needs analysis, feasibility studies, reports, estimates of costs and the management of tender processes
• Provide specialist technical and expert advise to a multi-disciplinary design team
• Demonstrated working knowledge of Hydrologic and GIS software such as: TUFLOW, MIKE Programs, ArcGIS, Mapinfo GIS and MUSIC
• Knowledge and the ability to provide expertise advise on hydraulic and hydrologic modelling
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

This is a 12 month contract based on the Gold Coast that offers a variety of projects, a skilled team of professionals within a working environment that enforces a work/life balance mentality.
