Overhead Traction System Designer Drafter| Perm Govt Role

With more than seven thousand staff, more than six billion dollars in assets and more than seven thousand kilometres of track, our client is a strong and powerful integrated passenger and rail infrastructure business. With funding committed to the Network Infrastructure Projects we have an immediate requirement for an electrical drafter to design traction overhead wiring in the Rail Industry.

Based in Brisbane with some travel throughout the state, your main purposes is to design traction wiring systems, plus provide technical and CADD support in the Engineering Capital Delivery Division. You will also be responsible for supervising technical project teams.

To be successful you will have:
• Associate Diploma Electrical Engineering; equivalent or higher
• Experience in High level CADD methods and the ability to provide technical support, training and ensure quality improvements in the Traction Distribution departments.
• Exposure to the Rail industry and experience in auditing and inspections of electrical systems is a must. 

Ideally, you would have held a similar position within government or private sector or have working knowledge and understanding towards QLD's codes of conduct for Rail. You will also have the opportunity of further training and updating your existing skills. Flexible working hours are on offer that only a Government organization can offer, free rail tavel and the opportunity to travel extensively around Queensland for work.
