A Success Profile is a document which focuses HR-based activity (such as professional development, performance management, selection and succession management) on what is important for success. This focus is pivotal in driving efforts and shaping staff capabilities in line with organisational strategy.

Chandler Macleod has expanded our definition of success from a single definition of competencies to a broader definition of success in key organisational roles.

Research and our experience leads us to the view that individual success is influenced by the interplay of the four critical factors:

  • Experience: Key situations or challenges that an individual has experienced or had exposure to which are important for success;
  • Knowledge: the things that people need to know about the industry, how the organisation operates and their individual role requirements;
  • Competence: an individual’s capabilities, skills and behaviours;
  • Personal Style: The characteristics of an individual’s personality that tend to lead to success or failure in a given role. This also includes factors such as motivations and cognitive factors which can be critical particularly for selection purposes.

Chandler Macleod is privileged to have extensive research, competency frameworks , Job Analysis methodologies and tools to draw upon. We are able to create valid profiles quickly so as not to delay organisational initiatives.
