Culture is defined as the collective "way of living or being" that arises from any sustained or ongoing interaction between human beings. In other words all ongoing human interaction leads to some form of cultural outcome.

So what does this mean for business?

It means you get an organisational culture whether you want one or not. As a matter of fact you have one right now. Whether you like the culture or not, or whether it is actually helping you achieve your business goals is a completely different question.

This paper shed’s light on the often complex matter of organisational culture, and provides useful frameworks for exploring and developing culture. The critical difference between consciously designing the right culture for success and blind faith is explored.

Even as you read this your culture is being shaped or is shifting - completely of its own accord. Its like being in a slow moving car that is impossible to stop. You only have two choices – grab the steering wheel and move the car where you want to go or sit back and hope that somehow luck and chance steer you safely down the road.

Lets explore how to grab the wheel.
