“We cannot choose our external circumstances, but we can always choose how we respond to them.” Epictetus Quotes from The Enchiridion

Overview

This informative, practical and motivating workshop provides an opportunity for individuals to consider the importance of work / life balance and invites them to analyse the choices they currently make in relation to managing stress.

Stress arises when there is a perceived imbalance between the coping skills of the individual and the demands of the environment, when coping is seen as important…

“Men are disturbed not by things but the views which they take of them.” Epictetus, 1st century A.D

It is not possible to eradicate stress from our work and personal lives but it is possible to make choices about how we handle it. Emotional Resilience encourages participants to consider changing their thinking – as the way in which you think about problems, opportunities and challenges can have a profound effect on how you perceive and experience stress.

The course covers how to recognise symptoms of stress (physiological, psychological and occupational) and examines the relationships between stress, perceptions, control and work performance. The workshop discusses differences between Rational and Irrational thinking and introduces techniques for maximising wellbeing including relaxation exercises and coping strategies.
