Overview

The Managing With Insight (MWI) program is a successful and powerful people management course designed to improve professional and personal interactions.

The course is centred on the Humm Wadsworth Temperament Profile (Humm) which is a behavioural profiling tool that offers exceptional insight into individuals’ workplace tendencies and styles, specifically around their interpersonal preferences, task orientation and stress management.

Specifically designed for Managers, the MWI course provides techniques on how to identify different types of behaviours, and what motivates people to behave these ways. It increases participants understanding of the dynamics underpinning all interpersonal interactions through not only providing individuals with a permanent and profound insight into their own behavioural style and how this impacts on others, but in turn how the behavioural styles of others will impact on them.

The course provides managers with an insight into how to improve their own behavioural style, as well as manage the behaviours of others in a manner that is both productive for the company and beneficial for the development of each individual.

Key Benefits

Effective interaction or people management skills are not innate qualities but skills that can be acquired, moulded and developed. Through a range of individual and group activities, MWI encourages participants to:

  • Evaluate and develop an understanding of their personal style and the impact their style has on others
  • Consider ways of refining their style to become more effective and productive in their role
  • Broaden and improve their observation skills and understanding of people in terms of motivation, work approach, interpersonal style and stress tolerance
  • Look at developing strategies for working more effectively with colleagues particularly with reference to provision of advice, direction, encouragement, praise and criticism
  • Develop stronger abilities to identify and understand behavioural drivers, strengths and areas requiring further probing during interview
  • Increase their capacity to influence people
  • Develop skills that allow their ideas to be listened to and accepted
  • Complete tasks successfully through other people
